CANUCKS (AHL) RECALL DEFENSEMAN TIM REGO
Abbotsford (AHL) recalls second-year defenseman Tim Rego ahead of Kalamazoo’s final preseason game.
KALAMAZOO, MI – The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Vancouver Canucks, announced Saturday that defenseman Tim Rego has been recalled from loan by the Abbotsford Canucks (AHL).
Rego, 25, is a 6-foot, 185-pound, Mansfield, MA native entering his second professional season. The right-shot spent his rookie year splitting time between Greenville (30 gp, 5g, 5a) and the AHL’s Ontario Reign (15 gp, 5g, 5a). Rego also played five games (2a) out of Cornell University (NCAA) with Greenville in 2024-25.
The defenseman played four seasons (2021-25) total at Cornell, totaling 54 points (14g, 40a) in 136 games with the Big Red. He also helped the program capture ECAC Championships in 2024 and 2025, and was named to the All-Ivy League First Team & ECAC All-Tournament Team in 2024-25.
The K-Wings are set to host their final preseason game Saturday versus the Toledo Walleye at 7:00 p.m. at Wings Event Center ($10 if purchased before Gameday & $12 on day of the game).
