On Sunday, Jan. 31, 2027, the Kalamazoo Wings will make franchise history when they take the ice outdoors at Western Michigan University's Waldo Stadium against the Toledo Walleye.
As part of the K-Wings' Farewell Season at Wings Event Center, the Outdoor Game is more than just a hockey game - it's a celebration of our past, our community and the next chapter of K-Wings hockey. From lifelong fans who have filled the stands for generations to families creating their first K-Wings memories, this will be a day remembered for years to come.

- The Outdoor Game is a regular-season ECHL game between the Kalamazoo Wings and Toledo Walleye played outdoors at Waldo Stadium on January 30, 2026, at 3 p.m. ET

- The game will begin at 3 p.m. ET

- Gates at Waldo Stadium open at 1:30 p.m. ET
Tickets
Do Season Ticket Holders (STH) need to purchase tickets?
- No, STH's tickets are included with their package.
How do I purchase tickets?
- STH will receive a link emailed to them from their sales representative to reserve their seat. General Public tickets are available starting at 10 a.m. ET on August 7, 2026.
How many tickets can I purchase?
- There are no restrictions on ticket purchase amounts, but fans who are planning to buy 10 or more tickets are encouraged to fill out the 'Group Contact form' above or contact Joe Roberts at (269) 226-0360 or jroberts@kwings.com
Will I be able to select my seats?
- Yes. Fans will be able to select available seats at the time of purchase. Seating availability will be based on time of purchase.
Will any stadium suites be available for purchase?
- Fans interested in suite opportunities for the Toledo vs. Kalamazoo outdoor game should contact Joe Roberts at (269) 226-0360 or jroberts@kwings.com

When will I receive my tickets?
- All tickets will be digital. Tickets will be sent on or before September 1, 2026.
When will I buy my tickets?
- All tickets for the 2027 Outdoor game are to be purchased through Western Michigan University Box Office. All other K-Wings games will be ticketed through normal channels via ETix
Stadium Information
Where do I park?
- Parking plans are currently being finalized and will be free of charge. Information regarding parking locations, permits, shuttle services, and premium parking opportunities will be announced closer to the event.
What if I need accessible seating?
- Accessible seating options will be available. Fans requiring accommodation should contact the WMU Athletics Ticket Office for additional information.
Can my organization rent the ice at Waldo Stadium?
- Yes. The temporary rink will remain in place through February 7, creating opportunities for community programming and ice rentals. Groups, organizations, youth hockey teams, schools, and individuals interested in ice rental opportunities are encouraged to contact Nick Owens, Director of Athletic Facilities, at nicholas.owens@wmich.edu for additional information.
Will there be community events associated with the rink?
- Yes. In addition to the Outdoor Hockey Game, Western Michigan Athletics plans to host a variety of community events while the rink is in place, including public skating opportunities for fans, families, and the Kalamazoo community.
- Additional information regarding dates, times, ticketing, and pricing for public skating sessions and other special events will be announced at a later date.

What happens if it snows?
- The game is expected to be played in typical winter conditions.
What happens if the weather causes a postponement?
- While it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY, any schedule changes will be communicated through official K-Wings channels.
Should I dress for winter conditions?
- Yes. Fans are encouraged to dress warmly in layers.
