K-WINGS ADD FORWARDS DYLAN WENDT & SPENCER KENNEDY

Kalamazoo welcomes important forward pieces in Dylan Wendt and Spencer Kennedy to its 2026-27 roster.

KALAMAZOO, MI – The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, announced Thursday that the team has signed forwards Dylan Wendt and Spencer Kennedy to a Standard Player Contract (SPC) for the 2026-27 season.

Wendt, 25, is a 6-foot 1-inch, 185-pound, Grand Haven, MI native entering his third professional season. The right-shot forward played 19 games (3a) with Utica (AHL) and 30 games with Adirondack in 2025-26, scoring 21 points (9g, 12a) in that span for the Thunder. 

“I’m excited to be back in Kalamazoo,” Wendt said. “It’s a place that not only am I familiar with, but I love. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the K-Wings organization & fans, and I’m ready to make an impact with my teammates.”

The Michigan native played five games (1g,1a) for Utica (AHL) at the end of the 2023-24 season out of Western Michigan (NCAA). Wendt spent the previous three seasons (2021-24) with the Broncos, tallying 69 points (33g, 36a) in 111 games played. In 2024-25, Wendt continued his rookie season with Utica and Adirondack, lacing up for 55 games with 31 points scored (10g, 21a). 

Kennedy, 25, is a 6-foot 6-inch, 220-pound, left-shooting forward who is set to return to the K-Wings after putting up 6 points (1g, 5a) with 104 penalty minutes in 26 games played in 2025-26. 

“I’m excited to be back for another season in Kalamazoo,” Kennedy said. “Looking forward to selling out the Wings Event Center and saving the best for its last season. It’s going to be a special year.”  

The Lethbridge, AB, native saw time with Kalamazoo and Norfolk in 2024-25, compiling 4 points (2g, 2a) and 145 penalty minutes in 25 games played combined. His rookie season was split between five teams: Reading (ECHL), Atlanta (ECHL), Roanoke (SPHL), Peoria (SPHL) and Pensacola (SPHL), totaling two goals and three assists with 178 penalty minutes in 46 games played. 

Prior to his professional career, Kennedy played two seasons (2021-23) of college hockey at Portage College (ACAC), scoring four goals with six assists and 170 penalty minutes in 28 games. The forward made his SPHL debut with Roanoke (SPHL) late in the 2022-23 season, scoring three goals with 131 penalty minutes in 19 games.

Kalamazoo will continue releasing player signings until the start of training camp this October. Single-Game tickets and the team’s promotional schedule are slated to release in September with the Home Opener scheduled for October 30 at 7 p.m. ET versus the Toledo Walleye.
