K-WINGS SIGN FORWARD GARRETT DEVINE, VENUTO TRADED TO MAINE
Kalamazoo adds offensive depth with signing of Garrett Devine, and Maine claims Venuto.
KALAMAZOO, MI โ The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey Leagueโs Vancouver Canucks, announced Wednesday the team has signed forward Garrett Devine to a Standard Player Contract (SPC). The Maine Mariners have also selected rookie forward Antonio Venuto, completing the futures consideration trade for forward Collin Bilek this past fall.
Devine, 28, is a 6-foot 1-inch, 205-pound, Windsor, CO native finishing his rookie campaign this year. The forward spent the first portion of the season with the Peoria Rivermen (SPHL), charting nine goals and 15 assists in 28 games played.
The left-shot skated the majority of last season with the Riverman, notching 11 goals and 18 assists in 42 games. Devine has had two stints in the ECHL with Maine (17 GP) in 2023-24 and 2024-25 before being loaned to Bloomington (2 GP) to finish last season.
The forward played three years of NCAA D1 hockey for Providence College (2019-2022) before joining the Univ. of New England for his final two collegiate seasons (2022-2024), totaling 20 goals and 14 assists between the two schools.
Next up, the K-Wings hit the road for a midweek clash against the Bloomington Bison (14-11-2-2) on Wednesday, January 7, at 8 p.m. EST at Grossinger Motors Arena.
The K-Wings return home for Canucks Night as we honor our NHL affiliate, the Vancouver Canucks, on Saturday, January 10 presented by Bell's! Puck drop is at 4:30 p.m., presented by Discover Kalamazoo!
