Kalamazoo, MI.- The Kalamazoo Wings, ECHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, signed forward Michael Neal, the K-Wings announced on Thursday morning.
Neal, 29, joins the K-Wings after netting 52 points (20g, 32a) in 66 games with the Indy Fuel last season. The Fuel captain and an ECHL All-Star, last year saw the forward set career highs in every offensive category. A veteran of 487 ECHL games, Neal has tallied 257 points (104g, 153a) during that time. The forward returns to Kalamazoo where he played 39 games and five playoff games during the 2014-15 season. A fifth round draft pick of the Dallas Stars in 2007, Neal turned pro during the 2009-10 season appearing in 63 games with the Idaho Steelheads and Texas Stars.
In an additional move defenseman Kyle Bushee has been placed on the 14-day IR.
Kalamazoo is back in action on Thursday evening taking on the Toledo Walleye. Puck drop, originally scheduled for 10:35am, is now set for 7:15 pm.
