K-WINGS LOANED THREE PLAYERS FROM CANUCKS (AHL)
Kalamazoo’s first wave of loans from Abbotsford (AHL) loaded with young talent.
KALAMAZOO, MI – The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Vancouver Canucks, announced Tuesday that the Abbotsford Canucks (AHL) have loaned goaltender Mitchell Weeks and rookie forwards Quinn Emerson & Ryan St. Louis to the team ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Weeks, 25, is a 6-foot-3, 187-pound Barrie, ON native entering his fifth professional season. Last season, Weeks played in 44 games (20-15-7) for Indy, sporting a .906 save percentage (SV%) and 2.46 goals-against average (GAA) with one shutout. The netminder split his previous four seasons between Indy and Rockford (AHL), bolstering a 50-30-14 record in 99 ECHL games with a .906 save percentage and 2.53 GAA. In Rockford, Weeks owned a 19-21-7 record in 51 AHL appearances.
Prior to his first pro start, Weeks played three seasons (2018-22) in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves, holding a 36-44-8 record, with a .888 save percentage and allowing 3.97 GAA. Weeks split the 2018-19 season in the OJHL with the Newmarket Hurricanes, appearing in 30 games with a 16-11-1 record, 1.72 GAA and.941 SV%.
Emerson, 25, is a 6-foot, 185-pound, Manhattan Beach, CA native entering his first professional season. The right-shot comes off his career-best final season at Bowling Green State (NCAA), appearing in 36 games with 33 points (10g-23a) and 38 PIMS with a plus-11 rating. Emerson spent the previous three seasons (2022-25) also with the Falcons, tallying 32 points (14g, 18a) in 94 games with 34 PIMS and a plus-4.
Emerson played his junior hockey in the BCHL with the Wenatchee Wild (2019-20, 2021-22), recording 53 points (22g, 31a) in 56 games, and one season in the NAHL with the Lone Star Brahmas (2020-21), totaling five points (2g, 3a). The American forward is the son of former NHL player and current Los Angeles Kings assistant general manager Nelson Emerson. Nelson Emerson appeared in 771 NHL games from 1990-2002, recording 488 points across eight franchises, and won Stanley Cups in 2012 & 2014 as the Kings' director of player personnel.
St. Louis, 23, is a 5-foot-10, 181-pound Burlington, VT native entering his first season of professional hockey. In 2025-26, St. Louis recorded 15 points (8g, 7a) in 30 games at Brown University (NCAA). The left-shot forward also played his previous two seasons (2023-24, 2024-25) with the Brown Bears, totaling 53 points (24g, 29a) in 53 games and earning a Hobey Baker Memorial Award nomination and All-Ivy League Second Team honors in 2023-24.
The forward is the son of Montreal Canadiens head coach and former star NHL veteran Martin St. Louis, who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame’s ‘Class of 2018.’ Martin finished his NHL career with 1,033 points (391g, 642a) in 1,134 games, winning the 2014 Stanley Cup, 2014 Olympic gold with Team Canada, one Hart Trophy, two Art Ross Trophies, three Lady Byng Trophies, and was a five-time All-Star selection.
The K-Wings are set to host one of their two exhibition games versus the Toledo Walleye at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10 at Wings Event Center ($10 if purchased before Gameday & $12 on day of the game).
