K-WINGS RECEIVED DEFENSEMAN CALISTI FROM CHECKERS (AHL)
KALAMAZOO, MI – The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Columbus Blue Jackets, announced Wednesday that rookie defenseman Robert Calisti has been loaned to the K-Wings by the Charlotte Checkers (AHL).
The reassignment satisfies the future considerations portion of the February 18 trade between Florida and Kalamazoo.
Calisti, 22, scored 10 goals with 14 assists and 33 penalty minutes in 42 games played for Florida this season. The defenseman leaves Florida No. 10 in team scoring with two power-play goals and one game-winner.
The 5-foot 9-inch, Toronto, ON native played just over three seasons with the Soo Greyhounds (OHL) from 2017-2022, scoring 41 goals with 69 assists and 137 penalty minutes in 195 games played. Calisti also earned a call-up to the AHL in 2020-21 with the Bellville Senators, notching one assist in one game played.
