K-WINGS SHRINK TRAINING CAMP ROSTER BY THREE
Kalamazoo releases two from professional tryouts, and trades Nick Jermain to Fort Wayne for future considerations.
KALAMAZOO, MI – The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Columbus Blue Jackets, and Head Coach Nick Bootland announced the following transactions Saturday.
The K-Wings released defenseman Andrew McLean and goaltender Kade Phipps from their professional tryouts. The team also traded forward Nick Jermain to the Fort Wayne Komets for future considerations.
Kalamazoo’s training camp roster now consists of 23 players, including two goaltenders, nine defensemen and 12 forwards. The team completes its preseason schedule tonight at the Huntington Center at Toledo with a 7:15 p.m. game against the Walleye.
The K-Wings open the 2021-22 season at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23 against the Toledo Walleye at Wings Event Center. Single Game Tickets to the Home Opener and all 36 home games are on sale now, and can be purchased HERE.

The Kalamazoo Wings are a professional hockey team located in southwest Michigan that has been a staple in the Kalamazoo, MI professional sports landscape since 1974. The K-Wings compete in the ECHL and are the AA affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Columbus Blue Jackets and American Hockey League’s Cleveland Monsters. Kalamazoo plays their 36 regular season home games at Wings Event Center from October through April.
