Kulbakov Assigned, Dirk Recalled

Kalamazoo, MI.- Goaltender Ivan Kulbakov has been assigned to Kalamazoo from Utica and defenseman Jagger Dirk has been called up the Kalamazoo Wings announced on Friday morning.

Kulbakov (pronounced COOL-buh-kahv) comes to Kalamazoo after appearing in 12 games with the Comets to start the season. The netminder posted a record of 5-5-2 to go along with a 3.47 goals against average and a .892 save percentage. A native of Belarus, Kulbakov, spent last season between Cleveland (AHL) and Quad City (ECHL) appearing in 30 combined games.

Dirk, who earned his second call-up of the season, joins the Comets as they begin a three-game set with the Laval Rockets. In 12 games with Kalamazoo this season Dirk has totaled five points (2g, 3a). He skated in one game during his previous recall.

Kulbakov is expected to be in the lineup as the K-Wings take on Fort Wayne on Friday night at Wings Event Center, and will wear number 34.

The K-Wings are back at home on Friday, taking on the Fort Wayne Komets. Puck drop at Wings Event Center is set for 7:30 pm.
