Kalamazoo, MI.- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, signed veteran forward Tommy Mele the team announced on Saturday morning.
Mele, who began the season with Greenville, appeared in five games recording one assist to start the season before being waived. The forward spent the 2017-18 season in Europe, netting 32 points in 30 games with the Milton Keynes Lightning (EIHL). The eighth year pro has appeared in a total of 279 ECHL games, recording 146 points (80g, 66a) with Alaska, Cincinnati, Norfolk, Fort Wayne, Tulsa, and Greenville.
To make room for Mele on the roster forward Kyle Blaney has been placed on IR. Mele is expected to be in the lineup on Saturday night as the K-Wings take on the Cyclones.
