Kalamazoo, MI.- The Kalamazoo Wings, ECHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, have signed defenseman Aleksandr Mikulovich the team announced on Monday afternoon.
Mikulovich, 22, appeared in 35 games with Orlando last season finishing with five points (2g, 3a) as well as 83 penalty minutes and a plus-six rating. Over the last two seasons the 6’3” blue liner has appeared in 71 ECHL games with Orlando and Rapid City. He also skated in seven games with Kunlun Red Star (KHL) during the 2016-17 season. Prior to turning pro the defenseman spent three seasons in the OHL with the Niagra Ice Dogs.
In a corresponding move, forward Zach Saar has been placed on IR.
Kalamazoo is back in action on Friday night in Cincinnati for the first of two games against the Cyclones. The teams flip to Kalamazoo on Saturday, Oct. 27 for Orange Ice and Nickelodeon Night.
