A six-year pro, Shelast joins the K-Wings has a free-agent on 12/29/12, after beginning the year with the Evansville IceMen. Shelast last wore the red, white and blue during the 2010-11 season, when he participated in the training camp of the K-Wings. One of the K-Wings final cuts that year, Shelast would go on to play the season in the CHL with the Quad City Mallards posting a career-best 41 points (19 goals, 22 assists) and led the team in plus/minus with a plus-seven. '
Besides bringing ECHL experience, Shelast has also played 60 contests in the AHL.
The native of Kelowna, British Columbia was a four-year standout at Michigan Tech, where he led the Huskies in scoring during his Junior (2006-07) and Senior (2007-08) seasons.
