On March 28th, Berschbach signed with the K-Wings after finishing his collegiate career at Western Michigan University. Berschbach led the Broncos in scoring with 38 points (16 goals, 22 assists) in 40 games this season.
Throughout his senior season, Berschbach was a three-time National Collegiate Hockey Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Berschbach assisted on the Broncos game-winning goal against Michigan Tech to clinch Western Michigan’s first Great Lakes Invitational since 1986.
In his four-year collegiate career, Berschbach finished fourth or higher in scoring every season with the Broncos. Last season Berschbach contributed to WMU’s first Central Collegiate Hockey Association championship since 1986 and its first back-to-back trip to the NCAA tournament.
Before attending WMU, Berschbach played two seasons of junior hockey in the United States Hockey League with the Indiana Ice, where he played for former WMU head coach Jeff Blashill.
The native of Clawson, Michigan helped the Ice to the Clark Cup during the 2008-09 season, posting 44 points (20 goals, 24 assists) in 56 games. The following season, Berschbach registered 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists) in 42 games with the Ice. During both seasons in Indiana, Berschbach was named to the USHL All-Star team.
