Playing in Europe since 2004- 05 Lysak is poised to make a return to North America. The native St. Albert, Alberta joins the K-Wings after playing last year in Austria's top league with Graz EC, where he 46 points (17 goals, 29 assists) in 48 games.
The former 2nd round pick (49th overall) of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft played in the NHL with the 'Canes during the 2002-03 campaign.
No doubt the K-Wings would like Lysak to post similar numbers to his 2006-07 season in Milan, where he was the team's top scorer with 45 points (16 goals, 29 assists) in just 28 games or in 2009–10, where Lysak was the Danish ice hockey Premier League's top scorer with 23 goals with Al-Bank Ligean.
Before turning pro, Lysak played Junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with the Regina Pats.
