KALAMAZOO, MI— The Kalamazoo Wings have acquired forward Eric Scheid from the Kansas City Mavericks, completing a future considerations deal that sent Justin Breton to the Mavericks in March.
Scheid, 25, is a second-year pro who split time last season with the Florida Everblades (24 games played) and the Mavericks (25 games played). The native of Blaine, Minnesota, tallied eleven goals and 12 assists to go along with 18 penalty minutes between the two clubs.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound center made his professional debut in 2016 with the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
Before turning pro, Scheid appeared in 120 games with the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League and notched 95 points (38 goals, 57 assists) over the course of 120 games. In 131 games at the collegiate level with the University of Alaska-Anchorage and Penn State University, the left-hand-shooting centerman scored 44 goals and racked up 48 assists.
